We have loved working with Emma to help us redesign our home of 20-plus years. She is professional, funny, enthusiastic, flexible and more importantly, she always listened to what we wanted and took on board our comments about pieces she had suggested, offering alternatives so we were comfortable with the overall design. She worked collaboratively with us rather than presenting her idea of what our home should look like. For us, it was a big step to work with an Interior Designer, and we are so chuffed that we found Emma and for sure she has helped us to fall back in love with our home. Wow, what a positive experience from start to finish. Emma worked with me on my lounge and dining room, helping me bring my dreams to reality. She has a wealth of ideas and experience, with creativity and vision. She helped me to consider ideas that I never would have thought about on my own and all within my agreed budget. She gently challenged me at times, but always respected my views as the client. I know I am ‘fussy’ and sometimes find it hard to make decisions, but she was always patient and supportive throughout. Together we developed a plan for the space and colour scheme and Emma helped me bring this to life.
If you are thinking about whether or not to justify the expense I would say go for it! It has been worth every penny. My designer Emma was great, she took time to help me work out what I needed from the space and what my tastes were. She then used this information together with her expertise to offer me choices and advice. She was always positive, enthusiastic and generous with her time, and gave me loads of practical help as well. We chose the project management option and it was marvellous, Emma sourced tradesmen, oversaw the work and dressed the room at the end of the project. Contacting Emma Cockroft Interior Design, having discovered them while browsing online, was one of the best decisions I ever made! My husband and I have never worked with an interior design company before and it always seemed like such an “extravagant” thing to do and perhaps not the norm. However, once we got started, it seemed like such an obvious thing to do! If you’re looking to improve the style and feel of your home, and whether you have any initial ideas or not, Emma is able to add-to and fine-tune your existing ideas or come up with a completely fresh plan. Emma took the time to understand us as a couple, learning what our tastes are, and came up with gorgeous designs for our living room, master bedroom and daughter’s bedroom. Straight off, we were blown away by the ideas and while there was no pressure to feel trapped into the initial room designs, it just so happened that we loved them. One of the best parts was knowing we could feel comfortable with saying if we weren’t keen on something – that was a concern before looking into finding an interior designer. Our rooms are modern, vibrant and completely original, with incredible details and a wonderful combination of designs, and we’d have never been able to achieve these looks without their professional help. We first met Emma in June 2018 as we needed a facelift for our lounge and bedroom and were short on inspiration. She did an absolutely amazing job! We asked Emma to design a formal living room for us, an elegant and sophisticated adults only sanctuary. The only thing that we didn’t love from Emma’s original design was the lighting, but when we brought this to her attention she offered us a number of alternatives, one of which we loved! We were both working from home, so opted for the project management service. Emma selected and organised the various tradespeople, which allowed us to continue to work uninterrupted.
