ABOUT US

It’s not about us. It’s about you.
It’s about how we look after you. How we make your home look. How we make you feel.
Our role is always adapted to you, our client…and everyone’s needs are different.
Perhaps you have just moved home and need some help on the whole house, or maybe you have been living in the same house for a while, but it still doesn’t feel quite right…perhaps you bought a piece of furniture that just doesn’t ‘fit’, or maybe you want to go bold with colour but need someone to give you the confidence?
Where we can often help the most is when a couple can’t decide what they want to do. Perhaps they don’t know how to visualise their taste and style, or perhaps each partner has a different idea about what they want, and you have come to an impasse?

The reason we say it is about you and not about us, is that your home should be an expression of your personality. A beautiful but functional space that inspires you.
We can help bring that to life. We talk to you and spend time with you so that we can understand how you live, what your priorities are, your likes and dislikes. What makes your eyes light up, and what vision you may already have.
Often, we find that our clients can’t visualise what they want. Don’t worry – that is our job. We translate your brief into your vision, then we turn your vision into a stunning reality that will be admired by your friends and family and proudly enjoyed by you.
From spatial planning to colours, textures to patterns, furniture to statement pictures or ornamental pieces, lighting and soft furnishings and everything in between – every attention to detail is carefully considered, designed, and curated especially for you.

A professionally designed interior is an investment. Not only does it add value to your home, but we can help you save money, as you won’t end up investing in the wrong furniture or making a decorating mistake. We will help you to make the right decision the first time around.
Based in Cheltenham, we work across the Midlands and South West, and further afield, creating stunning home interiors as unique as the personalities of those who live there.
Our prices start from as little as £150 for an hour consultation up to £800 per room for a full home interior design package. We really do believe that everyone deserves to feel special in their own home. Regardless of your budget whether big or small, book a discovery call at our expense so we can find out more about each other and how we can help you to create your beautiful and unique home interior.

Emma Cockroft
Emma Cockroft cut her teeth in commercial interior design, she then retrained as a residential interior designer at the National Design Academy, where her passion for home interior design was ignited.
Emma loves making a difference in people’s lives. She is inspired by working with individuals and making their homes become their havens.
For Emma, good interior design is about how it makes you feel. This is why she moved away from the commercial side of the business and now concentrates on working with people to help them to visualise their dream homes and create beautiful yet functional spaces that are a joy to live in.

Our Process
We make it easy for you. Our job is to help you enjoy the transformation journey. We remove the headaches, provide inspiration, and carry out the time-consuming work for you.
You can select from simple consultancy (an hour or two of our time), design, or design and project management, which includes us facilitating, purchasing everything (and selecting and managing tradespeople to make the vision a reality).
The interior design journey
1.The Discovery Call
This initial conversation is for us to get a feel for what you want and to understand what you are looking for from Emma Cockroft Interior Design. We even give a little advice on this early call. It is the beginning our relationship together. Chemistry is important.
2.Face to Face
This is your opportunity to tell us a lot more about yourself and your dreams for your home. Within this meeting, we show you what we can do, how we work with clients, and how we would like to work with you, based on what you told us so far. This meeting also includes what the commission covers in terms of how many rooms and whether it encompasses just design or design and project management. This initial meeting, either online or face-to-face, is at our expense, with no obligation.
3.Design Brief
Now that we have decided to work together, this is the meeting where we go into the detail, to discover what you like, what you don’t like, what textures or patterns or colours inspire you, what about your home works for you, and what changes would make it work better. We will take photos and measure up too. We invoice for half of the design fees at this stage.
4.Presenting the design brief
We present the design brief to you for approval and feedback. This is of course based on the previous meeting but is an important step as it double checks we have understood your aspirations correctly. This part of the process is done online.
5.Design presentation
This is the big reveal – our opportunity to present layout of the room, a full schedule of all items we recommend for your room (priced up and sourced), along with swatches and samples. It is also your opportunity to give us feedback on the design. The beauty of this step is that nothing has been spent on these items yet, and if anything isn’t quite to your taste, it can easily be replaced with something that you love. When those tweaks are made, we will invoice you for the remainder of the design fee.
6.The plan
The whole plan is done and can be implemented by yourself, or if you have opted for project management, Emma Cockroft Interior Design will plan the project, develop a timeline, select from a team of vetted and trusted tradespeople, and manage the entire thing from beginning to end. You can simply sit back and wait for the magic to happen.
Emma is a Superstar
“Emma is a superstar, she worked on my last house and totally understood not only my need for guidance but also my time restrictions with work and the fact that I would often not be around to make decisions. She took the lead and produced such excellent results that I struggled to say goodbye to that house two years later. Fast forward and we’re working together again and she has got it all down, from level of project management to gentle herding to working in my sometimes insane suggestions – she never misses a beat or drops a ball and manages me just as enthusiastically as the design. Not only would use again, have used again, brilliant.”
